Connecting To Stripe

·         Welcome to Automated Payments with Dockit & Stripe!

·         To start accepting online payments and managing your slips seamlessly, you need to connect your Dockit account to Stripe. Stripe is one of the world's most secure and trusted payment processors, used by millions of businesses.

·         By connecting your account, the money your boaters pay will be routed safely and directly into your bank account.

·         📋 What You Will Need Before You Start

·         Because Stripe acts as your financial partner, they are legally required to verify your identity and business details. Before you click the button, please have the following handy:

·         Your Business Tax ID (EIN, SSN, or equivalent regional tax number).

·         Your Bank Account Details (Transit, Institution, and Account number) for where you want your money deposited.

·         The Legal Name and Home Address of the primary business owner(s) or director(s).

·         (Note: Stripe may occasionally ask to verify your identity with a photo of a government-issued ID. You can easily do this using your smartphone camera).

·         🚀 Step-by-Step Instructions

·         Step 1: Click "Connect to Stripe" Log into your Dockit Dashboard and click the Connect to Stripe button. You will be securely redirected to Stripe's setup page.

·         Step 2: Review Your Pre-filled Info To save you time, Dockit has already securely passed your Marina’s basic information (Name, Email, Phone, and Website) over to Stripe. You simply need to confirm it looks correct!

·         Step 3: Tell Stripe About Your Business Stripe will ask you a few questions about your business structure (e.g., Are you a Sole Proprietorship, LLC, Corporation, etc.?) Please ensure that all information is consistent. Addresses need to be consistent between your account information and any uploaded documents that you provide for identity verification.

·         Step 4: ⚠️ SKIP the Tax Section During the setup, Stripe may ask if you want to configure tax monitoring or automated tax calculation. Please skip or decline this section. Dockit already automatically handles all of your pricing, invoicing, and tax calculations on our end. You only need Stripe to process the final payment!

·         Step 5: Add Your Payout Details You will be prompted to enter your bank account routing details. This tells Stripe exactly where to deposit your funds when boaters pay for their slips or bookings.

·         Step 6: Review and Submit Give your details one final look. Once you click Agree & Submit, you will be automatically redirected back to Dockit.

·         That’s it! Your account will be marked as "Active," and you are instantly ready to start securely accepting online and point of sale payments.
